Programme 2018

  • Please note: The programme is subject to change without prior notice.
  • General Admission Ticket: R10
  • There will be stalls selling educational books, educational toys and children’s books in the school hall.
  • Parking will be available in the neighboring school grounds.
  • Vegetarian Food will be sold to the public
  • The Bookseller will have a pop-up-stall where readers will be able to buy copies of the participating authors’ books, as well as have their books signed. Credit card facilities are available.
  • There will be craft making (at a minimal charge) in the pink and purple rooms.

  • Location: School Hall
  • Guest Speaker: Photographer Xavier Saer and Mail&Guardian Editor in Chief Khadija Patel.
  • MC: SBSM Independent School Principal Mr Jateen Nana
  • This year we will award Author Ahmed Essop for his vast contribution to literature in South Africa and beyond.

    Children join Author Cora Groenewald in an interactive session with her book.

    Children will be entertained to a story with Author Refiloe Moahloli (How Many Ways Can You Say Hello?)


12h30 – 13h30

    Children will join Author Amina Kara (The Very Curious Tiger) on a story walk.

    Theme: A Celebration of Words
  • Win a prize for designing a collage.
  • Write a prize for writing a poem titled A Celebration of Words.
